What to expect from your kitchen design appointment
Welcome to the Magnet kitchen design service – your journey to a new kitchen starts here. Here’s what you can expect from our free, no-obligation design service:
1. Before your kitchen design appointment
The first thing your kitchen consultant will do is arrange a home measure. We’ll take some accurate, detailed measurements of the space, and while we’re there, we’ll have a proper chat about what your dream kitchen looks like.
This is your chance to tell us exactly what you want from your kitchen and share all of the challenges you have with your existing space. The more information we have, the better your design will be!
If you're keen to get a head start, here’s how you can prepare:
- Draw up a rough outline of your floor space
- Mark the locations of doors, windows and other immovable fixtures on your plan
- Take some basic wall-to-wall measurements
2. Meet with your Magnet kitchen designer
We offer two types of kitchen design appointments: in-store or online. Whether you prefer to chat via video call or in person at your local Magnet store, your designer will be on hand to guide you through our range of award-winning kitchens. Once we’ve got a good idea of your requirements, we’ll start creating a 3D render of your design.

3. Receive a 3D design and quote
At this point in your kitchen appointment, you’ll receive a 3D design of your new kitchen, so you can see exactly what it will look like in your space. You’ll also receive samples of your chosen cabinets and accessories, along with a no-obligation quote – all uploaded to your My Project account (more on this in the next section). From there, you’ll also be able to view and request any changes to your design.
