Magnet Mug Cakes

Make baking easy with a few simple ingredients, a mug and a microwave!


Ingredients (serves one)

30g butter

30g milk chocolate, broken down into small chunks

2 tbsp. caster sugar

½ tsp. vanilla extract

4 ½ tbsp. plain flour

½ tsp. baking powder


  1. In a large mug, melt the chocolate and butter in the microwave for 30 to 40 seconds (based on an 800-watt microwave)
  2. Once melted, take the mug out of the microwave and beat the mixture until smooth. Allow to cool slightly
  3. One by one, mix in the egg, sugar, vanilla extract, flour and baking powder
  4. Cook in the microwave for one minute 20 seconds (based on an 800-watt microwave). Allow to cool and serve!

Tip: Add 2 tsp peanut butter at step 3 for a tasty peanut butter version of the cake!
