Gas Safe registration
It is illegal to undertake any work on gas unless Gas Safe registered to do so. Please provide details of you or your nominated persons' Gas Safe Registration
Please provide an image of both the front and reverse of the Gas Safe registered person's ID card or a screenshot of the Gas Verification on the Gas Safe website
Electrical registration (must be with an appropriate body (e.g. NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA, Benchmark, SELECT (Scotland) for Domestic electrical installation works)
Any electrical work undertaken must be carried out by a Registered Electrician. Please provide details of your or your nominated persons Electrical Registration
Please provide an image of the Registered Electrical registered persons certificate or a screenshot of the Registration Bodies website verification.
Public Liability Insurance. The insurance policy must clearly show the expiry date, the amount of cover (minimum £2m) and evidence that the use of heat is included (e.g. the use of hand-held blow-torches, soldering irons).
We will require a copy of the policy on completion of the application and on issuing the account number
Tax Registration Details (Please ensure that you are registered with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) for CIS tax deductions)

Customer Reassurance
Magnet provides its customers an undertaking that the sub-contractors we use are legally entitled to work in the UK and that any criminal offence is a matter of record.
Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. In line with this legislation, all applicants will be required to produce documentary evidence of their eligibility to work in the UK. (The Area Installation Manager will need to view a copy of your current UK passport).
Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
Have you been convicted of a criminal offence which is not ‘spent’ under this legislation? (The term ‘spent’ means that the criminal offence is no longer a matter of public record). We require a copy of a basic DBS certificate.
Please provide images of a recently obtained (within 12 months) DBS certificate.

Declaration

  • I have completed this application form truthfully and to the best of my knowledge
  • I understand that any offer made by Magnet Ltd. will be subject to the inspection of work previously carried out
  • I agree to allow Magnet Ltd. to build a retention ‘Bond’ of £1500.00. This will be accumulated at £75.00 per installation invoice with a value of over £1000.00 until the full value has been retained. The amount is repayable, subject to liabilities incurred, 12 months after the final invoice payment has been made. This ‘Bond’ will need to be claimed by you after the 12 months has elapsed.
  • I agree to allow Magnet Ltd. to deduct the TrustMark affiliation fee (currently £75.00p.a) from the above Bond on an annual basis.
  • I understand that it is my TOTAL RESPONSIBILITY to ensure that:
  • Any installation work to be undertaken involving gas will ONLY be undertaken by a Gas Safe Registered engineer in accordance with the Gas Safety, Installation and Use, Regulation.
  • Any electrical work that involves amending a circuit will ONLY be undertaken by a Registered electrician.
  • I understand that, if I employ or sub-contract any work on a Magnet installation to a third party, I will be FULLY responsible for vetting these personnel in accordance with the Consumer reassurance section above.
  • I understand that I, and any sub-contractors I may use, will need to undertake work in accordance with the terms of this agreement.
  • I understand that, if I wish to change any detail within this application, I MUST notify Magnet Ltd and provide the relevant documentation.
  • I understand that, should an installation not be carried in part or in full to the required standard by me/my contractors, I will either not be paid for the job, or will be liable for a reduction of the invoice value, or a debit note the funds for which will be deducted form invoices due, or the Bond at Magnet’s discretion.
  • I understand that, if any aspect of this application is found to be false, then Magnet Ltd. will immediately cease allocating work and suspend any/all payments pending investigation.
  • I agree that Magnet Ltd (or their appointed agent) may undertake credit vetting.

I understand that I will need to agree to the Magnet Approved Installer Protocol, Agreement and Code of Conduct, which will be provided during the onboarding process.

By submitting this application, I agree to the above terms.

 

Application Process

1. Initial contact: The Area Installer Manager (AIM) will contact the prospective installer to generally discuss how the process will work

2. If applicable, the application link will be sent to the prospective installer

3. The prospective installer will complete the application, including the required documentation and submit

4. The prospective installer will receive a 'ticket' number, which should be used as a reference number

5. The installation office will distribute the application to the relevant AIM

6. The AIM will arrange to visit the prospective installer to view the kitchen work, to view and verify thye drivers licence and the passport (or other Right to Work documents)

7. If successful, the installer will be introduced to the local store team and allocated two jobs.

8. The AIM will review the process with the installer and obtain the Protocol and Installer agreement documents.

9. These two jobs will be audited and signed off by the AIM.

10. If satisfactory, the installer may be allocated more jobs.
