Easy Peasy Pitzzas

These tasty, lightweight pizzas are made with pitta bread - fun for kids to make and healthier, too!

Easy Peasy Pitzzas

Ingredients (serves two)

4 whole-wheat pitta breads

4 tsp tomato puree

8 cherry tomatoes, diced

1 shallot, thinly sliced (or use half a small onion)

85g diced ham

50g grated cheddar cheese

Basil leaves, shredded (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 200c/180c fan/gas 6 and put a baking tray inside to heat up.
  2. Spread each pitta with 1tsp tomato puree and top with tomato, shallot, ham and cheddar
  3. Carefully put the pittas on the hot baking tray and bake for ten minutes until the pittas are crisp and the cheese has melted. Scatter with basil and serve!

The beauty of these pittzzas is that you can experiment with difficult ingredients – try chorizo, roast chicken or tuna instead of the ham and add sweetcorn, mushrooms or olives for some extra veggies!
